However, I believe high value encounters and story missions pay well enough, and can be done much faster in groups of fast hard-hitting ships! The payouts could be worth the risk easily, for a PVE corp brave enough to run them! Yes! I think players are still making their value assessments based on the abilities of a solo mission runner's setup. This is where smaller ships excel! They're cheaper, faster, with better scan statistics! I would recommend Assault Frigates/Destroyers, Navy Issue Destroyers, Guardian Destroyers, Logistics Frigates, and Command Destroyers! A half decent FC and fleet composer, could build a decent fleet to complete missions in record speed, while simultaneously being able to counter scanners in combat! Smaller ships also have quicker warp prep times, so the fleet can skedaddle at will, instead of being easily tackled like larger ships!Īs well, smaller ships have smaller signature and source radius! Which makes them harder to find! Smaller ships can can be fit for countering weak scan ships! Big ships with scanners, will have a much harder time finding your group of small ships, and when they do, they can be ganged up on by smaller faster ships! You will definitely be alerted of being scanned! Now they need to focus on the fleet composition with smaller, faster, harder to scan ships, like frigates and Destroyers! Ships that can shift to pvp in the same builds, easier than larger ships can. So, mission runners need to make the necessary adjustments! No more big solo battleship builds to run missions. Add that level of skill to a ship fitted for scanning, and finding mission runners, while giving off no warning, is fairly easy. A lot of players had SP saved, and was able to nearly max out the skills. So yes, I do think the rewards and bounties should be higher!Īs far as scanning goes, I think the system still needs more time before we start making adjustments. The other part to consider, is as a group, each member can select different encounters and missions! So, as a group, theoretically, you can run high value encounters and missions back to back! While working as a group, to defend yourself from groups of scanning pirates! Now if, like me, you still take risk to do encounters solo? The increased rewards are justified! Because there's risk to justify it! It's a sandbox, and that's a choice every player is allowed to make! Just don't make that choice, then come to Reddit to cry when things go south! I take full responsibility and accountability for my actions and decisions in-game! As well, because the missions will likely take more than one player to finish safely, there should be higher rewards for the number of players required. Now that scanning is in the game, I feel the risk is finally there, and the market is reflecting it as well!Įncounters and story missions shouldn't be relegated to these small sections of lowsec. I always advocate for risk v reward! In the case of encounter/mission running, I think the rewards were good, but there was no risk. Piracy is my game! I hunt loot, and sometimes, players happen to get between me and my loot!□ I understand both sides pretty well, I just prefer freelance! I've also run missions with groups, done miner security, and move ops security in the past. I'm a pirate, not a bully, and I think a lot of carebears take my rough rhetoric to mean I'm just a moron with guns lol! □ I advocated for higher rewards, as well as, missions that go into Nullsec! This is my official position, now that scanning is in the game!Ī lot of people think I'm just wanting to grief players, in particular, mission runners and miners, but that's not the case. Just some thoughts I have had since forever, about how to run missions in Eve Echoes! This is in response to another post about the state of mission running.
